"เมื่อวันที่ 15 กันยายน 2559 นายจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา และภริยา พร้อมด้วยหัวหน้าสำนักงานทีมประเทศไทย ประจำกรุงแคนเบอร์รา และข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรอง เนื่องในโอกาสฉลองครบรอบ 49 ปี ของการก่อตั้งสมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ หรืออาเซียน ซึ่งคณะกรรมการอาเซียนประจำกรุงแคนเบอร์ราร่วมเป็นเจ้าภาพ ณ ห้องรับรองของอาคารรัฐสภาเดิม (Old Parliament House)กรุงแคนเบอร์รา โดยมีนาย Luong Thanh Nghi เอกอัครราชทูตเวียดนามประจำออสเตรเลีย ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการอาเซียนกรุงแคนเบอร์รา (วาระเดือน ส.ค. – ธ.ค. 2559) และนาย George Brandis อัยการสูงสุด/วุฒิสมาชิก ออสเตรเลีย เป็นผู้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์เปิดงาน"

Reception to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
" On 15 September 2016, His Excellency Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand and spouse, along with Head of Offices under Team Thailand Committee in Canberra and Embassy’s officials, attended a reception to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The said event was co-hosted by the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Canberra Committee (ACC) at the Old Parliament House in Canberra. His Excellency Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi, Ambassador of Viet Nam and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra, and Senator the Honourable George Brandis QC, Attorney-General for Australia delivered the opening speeches. Participants included representatives of the 10 ASEAN member countries, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of government and private sectors in Australia."
